We are pleased to announce the release of version 2.85.0, codename "Mines Cleared!". This update focuses on stability, accuracy, and usability improvements across the board.
Below is a summary of the main changes. A full changelog is linked at the end.
Key Improvements
Fireteam & Spawn Points
The fireteam system now delivers real‑time health, weapon, and spawn location data to clients, eliminating inaccuracies with invalid map spawns. Minor spawnpoints are correctly resolved and shared. The old communication method has been removed.
Stats & Progression
- Stats are no longer wiped during intermission or stopwatch warmup.
- Time played is now consistently recorded in both stopwatch and campaign modes.
- Skill rating updates are skipped for maps without a decisive winner.
- The prestige system has been removed (a new progression system will follow later).
Compass & UI
- Compass map extends to the border when margins are not needed; edge icons use dynamic sizing.
- Fixed NW cardinal display and shoutcaster compass positioning.
- Spawnpoint numbers on shoutcaster compass are now correctly aligned.
HUD & Visual Fixes
- Corrected duplicate team flags, empty bot health bars, and FPS meter drops during menus.
- Added a
draw prefixoption for the FPS component. - Fixed levelshot pin aspect ratio, competitor HUD placement, and mono‑color name rendering.
- Alternate HUD compass cardinal points and reinforcement timer font scale are now correct.
HUD Editor & Menus
- Noise generator no longer overwrites important text messages.
- Replay menu now shows folder icons and includes a HOME button.
macOS & Engine
- No extra minimize event on focus loss for macOS.
- Patch optimizations apply on first load without requiring restart.
- Fixed locked teams during warmup in campaign and mapvote modes.
